Primary Trauma Care Course
PTC Foundation (Delhi) is a non profit organization comprising a
group of senior doctors of Delhi who are committed to improving
trauma care. Road traffic accidents are the cause of several deaths
and severe disability every year. Our effort will go a long way
in reducing mortality by timely action taken in the "golden
hour" by trained personnel. For this to be successful we need
a large pool of trained personnel both doctors and paramedical staff.
We have invited doctors involved in primary trauma care from all
the major hospitals of Delhi, to be part of this Trainers Course.
This includes doctors from both the major government hospitals like
AIIMS and Safdarjang Hospital and private hospitals including Apollo
Hospital, Spinal Injuries Centre, Sir Ganga Ram and Max Hospitals.
The aim is to produce a pool of doctors from both Government and
private hospitals who would undertake to train doctors and paramedical
staff in peripheral areas, in particular along our major highways.
We are supported by the PTC Foundation U.K. which, in collaboration
with Royal College of Anesthesiologists, conducts primary trauma
care workshops all over the world. PTC courses have been very successful
in Africa and Pakistan, where they have trained hundreds of doctors
and paramedical staff in the basics of primary trauma care.
The objective of the course is to impart knowledge to delegates
through teaching the techniques particularly applicable to trauma
patients requiring immediate care. The course schedule comprises
of lectures, demonstrations, skill stations (airway management,
spine injury etc.), case discussions & MCQ test.
We will be grateful for your support in conducting these courses
for training doctors and paramedical staff in primary trauma care.
After conducting courses in Delhi, we will go out to the surrounding
states where highway accidents carry a high mortality due to poor
trauma care in the initial "golden hour".
Since we are taking only 20 candidates for the each course, please
contact us for registration at the earliest. To download the registration form and
details of the course, visit the URL: www.ptcdelhi.com
